Primero que todo, tengo que decir que el blog es en español e inglés. Tienen que desplazar en las páginas para ver ambos y todas las fotos también.
First of all, I have to say that the blog is in Spanish and English. You have to scroll on the pages to see both and all of the photos as well.
This may be the only part of this blog that I write from English to Spanish. Usually, I write in Spanish and then translate it into English. Sometimes, the translation sounds a bit odd because I am writing more direct translations and then other times, the translations just don’t give the same meaning. Hence begins another journey and hopefully another blog… I realize that I do not know exactly what I will be doing, how much time I will have, and what is realistic. However, I feel that writing down and sharing my adventures in this way is highly beneficial (for me- yes that’s selfish, but hopefully for you as well). I am very hypocritical in this way…I tend to say that I don’t want to do things for myself, which is true, than I remember that everyone needs to still do something for themselves, namely, everyone should take care of themselves. So, this blog is an effort to do a bit of both. I am sharing my stories so that I can remember them, learn, and grow and additionally, I hope that everyone who reads them can feel themselves walking with me in these ways as well.
For everyone who knows me, or thinks they do, please still read this section. I know, it’s about me. Haha, once again, not trying to be selfish, but instead, helpful. Here are some notes about myself that you may or may not know, whether you know me or not.
I am a senior at the University of Dayton (UD) in Dayton, Ohio. I am a Spanish major with an English minor. From 2015-now I have spent all of my semesters -2 (including this one) at UD. I technically have finished all of the classes and credits that I need to graduate, but I decided to wait to graduate in the spring for several reasons. Three of those include that I wanted to graduate with the majority of my class, I also thought it would be nice to graduate at the same time as my twin brother, and finally, if I stayed a student, I could pursue several opportunities abroad including this one. Here is a summary of the past three and a half years: I spent two years at UD learning about myself and many different subjects (some of those being Chinese Culture, CORE [which integrates History, English, Philosophy, and Religion], Creative Writing, and a class on Hemingway. I had to then declare my major and after many influences and a lot of internal chaos and introspection, I became a Spanish major. ((Side note/shoutout- thank you Mary for helping me to see more clearly and influencing the direction I have taken!)). I continued taking classes, adding many Spanish and English classes, but still included classes like Social Philosophy and Fantasy and Magic. In the summer/fall of 2017, I traveled to Chile for a semester abroad. I will spare the details on how I got there, but let’s just say that it was a beautiful journey. I truly found myself while abroad and cannot express in words what Chile and the people I met there mean to me (if you would like to see my attempt at this please visit: https://chileenestemomento.wordpress.com/).
Here are five things about me in no particular order:
- I like to meet new people, especially people from different backgrounds, cultures, and countries than my own.
- I have learned ^^These people have helped me learn how to be more relaxed and happy. They have also helped me to be more comfortable with the unknown. Most importantly, they have helped me to know how to live and love more fully.
- Music is very important to me, but mostly when it is shared with someone else. I like to listen to other people and their music, I like when other people share their music tastes with me, and I like to play instruments as well (I know some trumpet, baritone, French horn, and I dabble on the piano).
- Food (and drink) are both miraculous unifiers and can bring people together in unexpected ways. Oh, yeah, about me, I like this characteristic of food/drink and endeavor to continue to eat/drink *lots of water and juice* especially with other people. [side note- cooking and creating food with others is also beautiful].
- Being outside is really essential in my life. I like to explore new places, smell the fresh (or otherwise salty, stinky, sweet) air that surrounds me. Mountains have a special place in my heart, but I also recently gained an incredible respect for pelicans as well.
Welcome. Now that you know me a little better, I offer you this opportunity to join me on this adventure. For now, I must pack my material possessions and organize my heart, brain, and soul. This journey is not for myself. I offer it to the love of my life, my family, my friends, to you, and to everyone who I will meet along the way.

Este quizás sería la única parte de este blog que escribe de inglés a español. Usualmente, escribo en español (primero) y después traducirlo a inglés. A veces, la traducción suena un poco raro porque escribo más las traducciones directas y otras veces, las traducciones no tienen el mismo significado. Por lo tanto, empieza un viaje más y con suerte, otro blog…me doy cuenta de que no sé exactamente qué voy a hacer, cuanto tiempo me voy a tener, y que es realístico. Sin embargo, siento que escribir y compartir mis aventuras en esta manera es muy beneficial (para mí, sí es egoísta, pero con suerte para ustedes también). Soy una hipócrita en esta manera… tengo una tendencia decir que no quiero hacer las cosas para mí mismo, cual es la verdad, luego recuerdo que todos necesitan aún hacer algo por ellos mismos, a saber, todos deben cuidarse. Pues, este blog es un esfuerzo para hacer un poco de los dos. Comparto mis historias para recordarlas, aprender, crecer, y además, espero que todos quienes léanlas pueden sentir ellos mismos andando conmigo en estas maneras también.
Para ellos que me conozcan, o piensan que sí me conocen, por favor lea esta parte. Sé, es sobre mí. Jaja, otra vez, no trato ser egoísta, pero mejor, útil. Aquí están algunas notas sobre mí que quizás saben, o no, si me conozcan o no.
Estoy en mu cuarto año en la universidad de Dayton (UD) en Dayton, Ohio. Mi carrera es español y tengo una asignatura segundaria en inglés. Desde 2015 hasta ahora me quedé por todos mis semestres menos dos (incluido este) en UD. Técnicamente, he terminado todas mis clases y los créditos que necesito para graduarme, pero decidí esperar hasta la primavera para graduarme por algunas razones. Tuve que elegir mi carrera y después de muchas influencias y un montón de caos interior e introspección, decidí en una carrera de español. ((Nota al lado/saludito- gracias a Mary por ayudarme ver claramente y por influir la dirección que he tomado!)). Continué asistir clases, añadí muchas de español e inglés, pero todavía incluye clases como la filosofía social y magia y fantasía. En el verano/otoño de 2017, viajé a Chile por un semestre como extranjera. Evito las detalles en como llegue allá, pero era un viaje muy bello. Aquí son cinco cosas sobre mí en un orden al azar:
- Me gusta conocer nueva gente, especialmente la de diferentes fondos, culturas, y países que las mías.
- Aprendí ^^Estas personas me han ayudado aprender como estar más relajada y feliz. También me han ayudado estar más cómoda con el DECONOCIDO. De la máxima importancia, ellos me ayudaron saber cómo vivir y amar más completamente.
- La música es muy importante a mí, pero especialmente cuando es compartido con alguien. Me gusta escuchar a otra gente tocar su música, me gusta cuando otra gente compartir sus gustas de música conmigo, y me gusta tocar instrumentos también (sé cómo tocar la trompeta, el bombardino, el corno francés, y trato tocar el piano).
- Comida (y bebida), los dos se unifican la gente en una manera milagrosa e inesperada. Sí, pues, sobre mí, me gusta esta característica de comida/bebida y deseo continuar comer/beber *mucho agua y jugo* especialmente con otra gente. [nota al lado- cocinar y crear comida con otra gente también es maravillosa].
- Estar afuera en la naturaleza es muy esencial en mi vida. Me gusta explorar lugares nuevos, oler el fresco (o de lo contrario salado, apestoso, dulce) aire que me rodea. Las montañas tienen un puesto especial en mi corazón, pero recientemente gano un respeto increíble para pelícanos también.
Bienvenidos. Ahora que me conocen mejor, ofrezco esta oportunidad a acompañarme en esta aventura. Por ahora, necesito empacar mis cosas materiales y organizar mi corazón, mente, y alma. Este viaje no es para mí. Lo ofrezco al amor de mi vida, mi familia, mis amigos, a ustedes, y a todos que me voy a conocer en el camino.
